PCB Design Engineer Location: Gothenburg Region, Sweden Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant Assignment About the Assignment We are looking for a skilled PCB Design Engineer to join a product development team working with advanced embedded electronic systems in a highly regulated industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys transforming hardware concepts into reliable, manufacturable PCB designs and contributing throughout the entire product development lifecycle. In this role, you will work closely with hardware engineers, firmware developers, mechanical designers, test engineers, and manufacturing partners to develop high-quality electronic products with demanding requirements regarding performance, reliability, and compliance. Responsibilities Design and develop multilayer PCB layouts for complex embedded electronic systems. Collaborate with hardware engineers during schematic capture, layout planning, and design reviews. Optimize PCB layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI performance, thermal management, and manufacturability. Create and maintain design documentation, fabrication files, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs). Support prototype builds, bring-up activities, debugging, and verification testing. Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure smooth transition from development to production. Manage component footprints and schematic symbol libraries. Perform design rule checks (DRC) and layout verification activities. Contribute to technical improvements, design guidelines, and development best practices. Support product maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

Manufacturing PCB fabrication and assembly processes Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Design for Test (DFT) IPC standards Gerber and ODB++ generation

Required Qualifications B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 3–6 years of experience in PCB design and electronics development. Strong experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB CAD tools. Experience designing multilayer PCBs containing analog, digital, and power circuitry. Good understanding of EMC/EMI principles, grounding strategies, and signal integrity. Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes. Ability to interpret electronic schematics and collaborate with hardware design teams. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Meritorious Experience Experience from medical technology, automotive, industrial automation, telecommunications, or other regulated industries. Knowledge of compliance-driven product development environments. Experience with high-speed digital designs and wireless communication technologies. Familiarity with design verification and validation processes. Experience working in Agile development environments.
