About the Role
You will help shape electrical installations for new vehicle platforms in a technically advanced R&D environment within the commercial vehicle industry. The role centers on designing cable harness routing solutions that work in the real world from concept to industrialization, while balancing function, packaging, quality, serviceability, manufacturability, and cost.
You will work close to electrical and mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to create robust installation solutions across the vehicle. Job DescriptionYou will design and develop cable harness routing solutions in 3D CAD based on technical requirements and established design standards.
You will create and maintain 3D routing models and the related design documentation needed throughout the development process.
You will optimize routing with regard to packaging, robustness, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as electrical architects, component owners, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and suppliers.
You will contribute technical solutions in design reviews during both concept and detailed design phases.
You will perform tolerance analyses and assess installation feasibility to secure robust solutions.
You will support prototype builds, verification activities, troubleshooting, and issue resolution during development and industrialization.
You will manage engineering changes and help ensure accurate product documentation.
You will contribute to continuous improvements in design methods, standards, and ways of working.
RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
Experience in cable harness routing or mechanical installation design.
Experience working with 3D CAD systems, preferably CATIA V5 or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
Experience working in cross-functional product development teams.
Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA).
Ability to work with both electrical and mechanical requirements in a structured product development environment.
Swedish and English language skills.
Nice to haveExperience from the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
Experience with electrical distribution systems and cable harness architecture.
Knowledge of PLM systems such as ENOVIA.
Experience supporting prototype builds and production-related activities.
Familiarity with product development processes and tools used in vehicle development.
