Specialist Physician / Senior Consultant Department of Anesthesiology, Kullbergska Hospital, Katrineholm (Region Sörmland) About Us The Department of Anesthesiology is a high-tech, dynamic, and development-oriented department. As the largest support department in the county, it encompasses both Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna and Kullbergska Hospital in Katrineholm. The core mission of the department includes perioperative care and intensive care. Kullbergska Hospital serves as the county’s primary hub for elective surgery, featuring five operating rooms that are in use on weekdays (excluding evenings and weekends). Surgical activities include general surgery, orthopedics, and gynecology, as well as a smaller volume of ophthalmology, dental, and vascular access procedures. The department also provides an on-call service (from home) that primarily supports acute care operations and intermediate care at Kullbergska Hospital. As full-scale intensive care is not provided at Kullbergska Hospital, the logistics of patient transfers are a key function of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Your Responsibilities We are seeking an anesthesiologist with extensive experience in clinical anesthesia and intensive care. We have a large number of residents (specialist trainees) who would benefit from additional role models among our specialists and senior consultants. An interest in teaching is highly valued, as this is a quality sought after by all staff within the department. This position is primarily based at Kullbergska Hospital. Your Qualifications You must be a licensed physician and a specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care within the EU/EEA. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you are a specialist physician from within the EU/EEA, you are welcome to contact us to discuss a potential, individually tailored validation process and language training. Type of Employment Permanent position; start date by agreement. We apply a 6-month probationary period before a decision is made regarding permanent employment.
