Senior Elastic Search Specialist

We are working with a leading global packaging company to find a Senior Elastic Specialist for an exciting opportunity.

As an Elastic Stack observability specialist, you will support our client’s digital journey by contributing to the implementation of a standardized observability stack.

The role is focused on:

· Designing a stack that spans over air gapped environments.

· Analyzing current observability data and its usability in KQL

· Define improvements for data consistency and query performance

· Improving data structure and tagging

· Implement alerts, detection strategies and visualizations

· Explore storage type alternatives - hot vs cold storage

· Define retention policies by data type and usage

· Implement head/tail sampling strategies

· Provide documentation and knowledge transfer

We believe you have:

· Deep expertise in the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Elastic APM, OTEL)

· Experience with Elastic Fleet management

· Strong experience in observability engineering, focusing on logs, metrics, and traces correlation

· Advanced expertise in KQL (Kibana Query Language)

· Strong experience in designing detection logic and dashboards using KQL

· Experience in Logstash pipeline design, transformation, and routing

· Experience with alerting strategies and anomaly detection within Elastic

· Knowledge of data modeling, tagging strategies, and schema design using Elastic Common Schema (ECS)

· Experience in storage tier strategies

· Experience integrating Elastic with external systems e.g. Splunk

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

· Strong communication and documentation skills
