Bring your life
Are you a people-focused leader who thrives on enabling creativity and building high-performing teams? Do you enjoy creating the conditions for designers to do their best work - balancing structure, planning, and team wellbeing? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you.
What you’ll do at Thule
As Team Manager Industrial Design, you will lead a team of textile-focused Industrial Designers working across our Bags, Adventure Camping & Dog categories. In this role, your primary focus is people leadership, team performance, and resource planning, ensuring that your team has the right conditions to succeed.
At Thule, all designers contribute to the realization of our design philosophy. We work with user-centered design, identifying needs, gathering insights, and rigorously testing ideas. Through creativity and a hands-on approach, we build prototypes, challenge assumptions, and iterate continuously, we build to learn.
As Team Manager, your role is to support and enable this process. You will not own creative direction or design decisions, but instead ensure effective staffing, balanced workloads, and a healthy, collaborative environment where designers can thrive.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with Design Leadership, Product Management, and Engineering teams. You will act as the main point of contact for resource planning and team capacity, ensuring clear communication around availability, risks, and constraints.
You will also play a key role in strengthening the team by supporting, developing, and retaining talent. Through coaching, feedback, and continuous development, you will build a strong and engaged design organization.
Additionally, you will support operational excellence by improving workflows, monitoring team performance, and driving continuous improvements. As part of your role, you will facilitate workshops, guiding teams through structured sessions and ensuring outcomes are clearly documented and communicated.
What you bring
To succeed in this role, we believe you have a strong background in Industrial Design, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience, combined with some years in a leadership or managerial position.
You bring extensive experience in industrial design, along with a solid understanding of design processes, tools, and methodologies. Experience within the outdoor industry and familiarity with sustainable design practices are considered strong merits, as is experience working in international product development and supply chain environments.
You are a structured and empathetic leader with strong coaching skills and a genuine interest in people development. You have experience in resource and capacity planning, and you are confident in balancing business needs with team wellbeing.
With good communication and stakeholder management skills, you can align across functions, manage expectations, and create clarity in complex environments. You are organized, proactive, and comfortable navigating both operational and interpersonal challenges.
Why you should join Thule
At Thule, we believe in strong teamwork both within your own team but also cross functional between teams. We strive to be an open and curious organization, sharing our knowledge and inspiring one another. Within Thule Group you will find people who have a passion for the products we make and the outdoor company we are. We share the same values, and we like to have fun. All of our employees have a joint responsibility to maintain that spirit and contribute to it.
